Chester, PA (November 8, 2017) - The DeSales University field hockey record breaking season came to an end on Wednesday evening falling to Widener University, 2-0, in the quarterfinals of the ECAC Tournament.
The Bulldogs finsh the year with a school-record 12 wins, having won their first-ever MAC Freedom postseason tournament game, and advancing to the ECAC Tournament for the first-time in team history.
DSU was locked in a scoreless tie at the half on Wednesday before Widener broke the tie at 44:43 whenÂ
Kayla Herr scored on a penalty stroke and the Pride (12-6) added an insurance goal late in the half to post the final margin.
DeSales had an 8-3 advantage in penalty corners but Widener enjoyed an 8-4 advantage in shots for the game.

Katarina Polyviou made three saves for DeSales in the loss.
