Reading, PA (December 7, 2017) - The DeSales University men's basketball team used a 14-2 run to end the first-half to take a 15-point lead and never looked back in the second-half winning its sixth straight game, 89-63, at PSU-Berks in non-conference action on Thursday evening.

Sophomore Kweku Dawson-Amoah (Stewartsville, NJ) netted a career-high 26 points in the win, scoring 23 of his 26 in the first-half and shooting 10-for-11 from the field in the win.

Freshman Mike Bealer (Harleysville, PA) also had a breakout game hitting six 3's and scoring 18 points off the bench.  Senior James Smith (Hillsborough, NJ) added 10 points as the only other double digit scorer and sophomore Ben Pratt (Allentown, PA) finished with seven points and a season-high seven assists.

Berks (1-9) was led by Matt Seip and Micah Krauter with 13 points each and Dave Polisano with 10 points.  Eric Stepnowski finished with seven points and a game-high 10 rebounds in the loss.

Leading by just three points (31-28) at the 4:36 mark of the first-half, the Bulldogs (7-1) finished the half on a 14-2 run to take a 15-point lead into the break (45-30).  Dawson-Amoah had 10 points during the run and Bealer hit a three.

The Nittany Lions battled back into the game and trailed by just five (56-51) when the Bulldogs answered with a 27-6 run to take an 83-57 lead and take control.  Bealer started the run with three triples and finished off the run with his fourth of the spurt.

The Bulldogs finished the game shooting 48.5 percent from the field and took excellent care of the ball committing just 10 turnovers as compared to 24 for PSU-Berks.  DSU scored 35 points off those turnovers.
