Purchase, NY (February 1, 2017) - The DeSales University never trailed winning its third straight game, 78-67, at Manhattanville College in MAC Freedom action on Wednesday evening in Kennedy Gymnasium.

Kuity Slanger led the Bulldogs (14-6, 6-3 MAC Freedom) scoring a team-high 18 points on 7-of-8 shooting from the field.  The senior trio ofÂ

Ryan Callahan each had 11 points and juniorÂ
Connor Jones finished with nine points and six rebounds off the pine.
The Valiants (7-13, 3-6 MAC Freedom) were led byÂ
JoJo Cobbs with a game-high 22 points,Â
Alex Tuci with 14 points, andÂ
Brian Haggerty with 10 points in the loss.
Slanger scored the first five points of the game to lead 5-0 before the Valiants tied the game at five. Â That tie was the last one of the game as the Bulldogs used a 10-3 run over the next 3:34 to take a 17-8 lead and continued to lead throughout the rest of the half taking a 41-31 advantage into the halftime locker room.
Laird opened the second half with a three on the first possession to push the advantage up to 13 points as DeSales led by nine or more points the entire half until Manhattanville cut a 16-point lead (66-50) down to just six (67-61) after an 11-1 run with 4:08 to go.
Three straight misses by the Bulldogs saw Callahan intentionally fouled on an offensive board at the 2:55 mark. Â He cashed in on both freebies, scored down on the low block on the ensuing possession, and Bridy scored on the fast break after a steal ignting a 10-0 run by DSU pushing the lead back up to 16 points (77-61) with 1:26 to go before the final margin was posted.

The Bulldogs shot 55.8 percent from the field and took full advantage of just 12 Valiant turnovers scoring 23 points off those turnovers. Â The DeSales bench out-scored Manhattanville's 29-10 for the game.
DSU is back in action on Saturday as they look at avenge an earlier season loss at FDU-Florham hosting the Devils at 3:00 pm in Billera Hall.
