Center Valley, PA (April 27, 2017) - The DeSales University men's tennis team clinched its second-ever MAC Freedom playoff berth with a 6-3 win over Eastern University in MAC Freedom action on Thursday afternoon.
The Bulldogs (6-8, 3-2 MAC Freedom) are back in the postseason for the first time since the 2005 season, its first and only appearance in the MAC Freedom postseason. Â DSU is locked into the #4 seed and will be traveling to top seed Wilkes University in the semifinals next week.
DSU took a 2-1 lead on Thursday winning at the No. 2 and 3 doubles positions. Â SophomoreÂ

Jeffrey Julien teamed at the No. 2 spot to win 8-2 and juniorÂ

Ben Greb teamed to win 8-4 in the No. 3 spot.
Greb, Ferraro, and Hayhurst were also winners in singles action as Greb lost the first set (7-5) but rallied to win the final two sets, 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 3 position. Â Ferraro won 6-3, 6-4 in the No. 4 spot, and Hayhurst was a 6-0, 6-1 winner in the No. 6 spot. Â FreshmanÂ
Jake McKinney also won at the No. 5 spot, 6-1, 6-0.
The Bulldogs will wrap-up the regular season on Saturday when they host Wilkes University in a playoff preview beginning at 1:00 pm.
