Center Valley, PA (May 3, 2017) - Drew University scored five runs in the seventh inning and held on late for a 7-3 win over the DeSales University baseball team in non-conference action on Wednesday afternoon.
Both teams scored in the third inning as seniorÂ
Tyler Sweeney singled home sophomore
Preston Amato to tie the score.
Drew got one more run in the sixth inning to take a 2-1 lead and broke the game open in the seventh with five runs on just three hits. Â DSU got one back in the eighth on a sacrifice fly from freshmanÂ
Sergio Diaz and another in the ninth on an RBI single from seniorÂ
Danny Licamara to provide the final margin.

John Poccia took the loss despite pitching effectively allowing just one unearned run over three innings of work, striking out two.  Sweeney earns
TW Cooper Insurance Player of the Game honors with three hits in the loss.
DSU is back in action tomorrow when they host Delaware Valley University in the first of three games this weekend at Butz field in the final MAC Freedom series of the season. Â First pitch is set for 4:00 pm.
