Reading, PA (September 22, 2017) - The DeSales University women's tennis team opened up the fall season 2-0 recording an 8-1 win over Albright College on Friday afternoon.
DSU swept all three doubles matches as senior
Kelly Nguyen (Macungie, PA) teamed with sophomore
Amber Achenbach (Wind Gap, PA) in the No. 1 position to win 8-5. Â Sophomore
Sarah Chan (Cerritos, CA) teamed with fellow sophomore
Sarah Lightner (Warminster, PA) to win 8-4 in the No. 2 spot and freshman
Alex Rodier (Clayton, NC) paired with sophomore
Amanda Becker (Camp Hill, PA) to win 8-4 in the No. 3 spot.
In singles play Lightner won 6-4, 6-1 in the No. 2 spot and Achenbach was a 6-4, 6-0 winner in the No. 3 spot. Â Chan won 6-0, 6-1, in the No. 4 spot, Rodier was a 6-0, 6-0 winner in the No. 5 hole, and sophomore
Kelsey Kazlauskas (Wyndmoor, PA) earned a 6-1, 6-0 win at the No. 6 position.
The Bulldogs will return to action on Tuesday when they travel to PSU-Brandywine for a non-conference match beginning at 3:30 pm.
