Center Valley, PA (January 13, 2018) - The DeSales University men's basketball team won its third straight game rolling past FDU-Florham, 83-65, in MAC Freedom action on Saturday afternoon in Billera Hall.
The Bulldogs took control of this game mid-way thru the first-half with the game tied at 14 out-scoring the Devils (0-15, 0-4 MAC Freedom) 25-9 over the final 12 minutes to take a 39-23 lead into the halftime locker room.
DeSales broke the game open up 14 at the 14:18 mark when they went on a 21-4 run to take a 65-34 lead and never looked back from there.
Junior
Luke Connaghan (Warrington, PA) led a balanced scoring attack with 13 points and six rebounds and sophomore
Tracy Simsick (Harleysville, PA) also reached double figures with 12 points. Freshman
Mike Bealer (Harleysville, PA), sophomore
Kweku Dawson-Amoah (Stewartsville, NJ), and senior
Connor Jones (Hawley, PA) each had nine points. Senior
Shaundell Fishburne (Southampton, NY) pulled down a career-high 10 rebounds and Dawson-Amoah and sophomore
Julian Wing (Ridley Park, PA) each had nine boards.
Shawn Smith led all scorers with 15 points and added six assists, while
Ryan Rigby also reached double figures with 11 points.
The Bulldogs held the Devils to 36.8 percent shooting and hit 46.3 percent. DSU dominated the paint out-rebounding FDU, 56-31, out-scoring the Devils, 48-28, in the paint.
DeSales returns to action on Wednesday when they travel to Wilkes University for a MAC Freedom game set to begin at 6:00 pm.
