Wilkes-Barre, PA (January 24, 2018) - The DeSales University men's basketball shot a blistering 65.5 percent from the field rolling past King's College, 103-78, in MAC Freedom action on Wednesday evening.
With the win DSU concludes the first-half of the MAC Freedom schedule and is now 14-4 overall and in a three-way tie for second place with a 5-2 conference mark.
Five players reached double digits on Wednesday including sophomore
Tracy Simsick (Harleysville, PA) with a game-high 19 points, shooting 8-for-9 from the field. Fellow sophomore
Kweku Dawson-Amoah (Stewartsville, NJ) added 17 points and pulled down eight rebounds, while freshman
Mike Bealer (Harleysville, PA) and junior
Luke Connaghan (Warrington, PA) each had 11 points. Senior
Connor Jones (Hawley, PA) finished with 10 points and eight boards.
King's got 17 points fromÂ
Lenny Radziak off the bench to lead the way. Â
Connor Callejas added 14 points,
Noah Tanner had 11 tallies, andÂ
Joshua Bailey finished with 10 points.
The Bulldogs took complete control of this game from the very beginning opening up a 33-13 lead after King's scored four of the first six points. The lead extended to 22 points (52-30) at the half as DeSales hit 76.9 of its field goal attempts over the first twenty minutes.
The second-half was more of the same as DSU led by as many as 32 points at the 13:32 mark of the final half and cruised to the final tally.
It is the first time since December of last season that the Bulldogs scored 100+ points in game.
The Bulldogs dominated the glass 42-20 and out-scored King's, 54-22, in the paint. DeSales also shared the ball extremely well recording 28 assists on 38 made baskets.
DeSales is back on the hardwood on Saturday when they host Eastern University in a MAC Freedom doubleheader with the start time set for 3:00 pm.
