Center Valley, PA (October 20, 2018) - The DeSales University field hockey team clinched a spot in the MAC Freedom postseason tournament with a 3-1 win over Wilkes University in MAC Freedom action on Saturday afternoon.

The Basics

• Records: DeSales (8-7, 5-1 MAC Freedom); Wilkes (8-8, 4-2 MAC Freedom)
• Notes: The Bulldogs not only clinch a spot in the postseason tournament but also clinch the #2 seed and their first-ever home playoff game coming in two weeks.

How it Happened

• Wilkes scored first to take a 1-0 lead 25 minutes into the game.
• DeSales responded back as freshman Suzanne Polashock scored off an assist from junior Christie Hansen just 4:01 after the Colonels goal.
• Hansen gave DSU the lead just before halftime on an assist from sophomore Becky Barley.
• DSU got its insurance goal with 3:04 left as sophomore Hannah Williams tallied her eighth goal of the season.

Top Bulldog Performers

• Hansen now leads the team in scoring with eight goals and seven assists for 23 points.
• The goal for Polashock was her second of the season.
• Junior Katarina Polyviou made three saves in goal.

For the Foes

• Zoe Stepanski scored WU's goal and Lauren Shiplett added an assist.
• Dallas Kendra had six saves in the loss.
