Kirby Scores Twice and Adds Assist in Men's Soccer 3-1 Win over Wilkes

Wilkes-Barre, PA (October 6, 2018) - Senior Michael Kirby tallied two goals and an assist leading the DeSales University men's soccer team past Wilkes University, 3-1, in MAC Freedom action on Saturday evening.

How it Happened
  • Both teams exchanged goal in the first eight minutes of the game as Kirby scored unassisted at 5:01 and WU answered tied the game just over three minutes later.
  • DSU took a 1-0 lead in the 33rd minute when Kirby scored for the second time and got its insurance goal to provide the final tally just under two minutes into the second half.
Top Bulldog Performers
  • Kirby's five points now give him five goals and seven assists for 17 points on the season.
  • Senior AJ Schroettner scored DSU's third goal, his first of the year.
  • Freshman Jake Padula made seven saves in his second start of the season in between the pipes.
