Tracy Simsick and sophomore
Mike Bealer combined to score 43 points leading the DeSales University men's basketball team past Catholic University, 81-67, in non-conference action on Monday evening.

How it Happened
- Leading 14-9 early, Simsick led a 7-0 run that pushed the lead to 12 points by scoring five of the seven points.
- DSU went cold from the field at that point scoring just three points over the next six minutes as Catholic took a one-point lead (25-24) with 6:50 left.
- Bealer ended the drought with a three igniting a 14-6 run in which Bealer totaled 11 points giving DSU a 38-31 lead and a DSU led 41-34 at the break.
- DeSales scored the first four points of the second-half to take its first double digit lead of the game at 45-34.
- Catholic answered with a 13-2 run to tie the game at 47 before the Bulldogs scored 10 straight to re-claim a 10-point edge thanks to four points from Bealer and four from freshman Keba Mitchell.
- It was a 3-point game at the 5:32 mark when junior Ben Pratt and Simsick hit back-to-back three-pointers to push the lead up to nine and DSU never looked back from there.
Top Bulldog Performers
- Simsick finished with a game-high 22 points and added eight rebounds.
- Bealer came off the bench to score 21 points and and pull down five boards.
- Pratt had his first career double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
- Sophomore Matt Kachelries handed out a career-high 10 assists and had seven rebounds.
For the Foes
- Catholic got double digits from Andre Mitchell (14), Will Milquin (13), Collin Hartmann (11), and Riley Hayes (10) in the loss.
- Hayes added a team-high 10 rebounds.
Inside the Box Score
- DeSales dominated the glass out-rebounding the Cardinals, 52-36, for the game.
- The Bulldogs hit 10 three-pointers and continued to shoot well at the line hitting 17-for-22.
