Center Valley, PA (February 10, 2018) - The DeSales University men's basketball team shot a season-high 67.2 percent from the field in a 96-68 route of King's College clinching a spot in the MAC Freedom postseason tournament on Saturday afternoon in Billera Hall.
After Saturday's results the four teams in the MAC Freedom postseason tournament are set with the Bulldogs, Wilkes, Eastern, and Misericordia all clinching postseason berths. The seeding however is all up grabs as two more games remain in the regular season next week. Several different scenarios exist with DeSales still having a shot at earning the top seed in the postseason tournament. DSU is currently in sole possession of second place heading into Tuesday's showdown with Misericordia University on the road at 8:00 pm.
DeSales (18-5, 9-3 MAC Freedom) dominated this one from start to finish leading the game for all but 1:15 and by as many as 31 points in the fourth quarter.
Trailing by one (13-12) DSU used an 11-0 run to take its first double digit lead (23-13) at the 10:50 mark of the first-half and after King's cut the margin down to four points, DeSales used a 14-3 run to lead by 15 points before taking a 47-33 advantage into the locker room.

Sophomore
Kweku Dawson-Amoah (Stewartsville, NJ) led the Bulldogs with 20 points on 9-of-11 shooting from the field and pulled down seven boards. Fishburne was perfect from the field and finished with a career-high 14 points, while junior
Luke Connaghan (Warrington, PA) (11 points) and senior
Connor Jones (Hawley, PA) (10 points) also reached double figures. Ten different players scored in the win.

As a team, DeSales hit 39-for-58 from the floor, a season-high 67.2 percent. The Bulldogs also handed out 26 assists, two shy of the season-high and were 9-for-15 from outside the arc. DSU out-scored King's, 56-20, in the paint and the bench had a 60-20 advantage in the scoring column.
The Bulldogs have now clinched a spot in the MAC Freedom postseason tournament for the 16th time since joining the MAC Freedom in 1997-98 and for the sixth straight season.
