Galloway, NJ (March 28, 2018) - The DeSales University men's lacrosse team dropped a heartbreaking decision on Wednesday evening falling to Stockton University, 7-6, in OT in non-conference action.
The Basics

How it Happened
- The Bulldogs scored four of the first five goals of the game to take a 4-1 lead before Stockton finished the half with two straight to trail by one (4-3) at the break.
- The Ospreys rode that momentum into the third quarter scoring the first two goals to take its first lead at 5-4, before two straight goals from senior Joe Neggia gave DSU a 6-5 lead with 6:55 to go.
- Stockton used every last second of the remaining 6:55 and finally tied the score with just 2.1 seconds left sending the game into overtime.
- In OT, SU won the opening face-off and called timeout. Out of the timeout, Eric Ellis scored his first of the game just 1:36 into the extra period to give Stockton the win.
Top Bulldog Performers
- Neggia and freshman Zach Bowen each had two goals.
- Sophomore Kevin Monaghan had one goal and one assist and freshman Matt Motto scored once.
- Freshman Colin Corrado and Dylan Valinchus each dished out an assist.
- Sophomore Frank Krug finished with five ground balls and four caused turnovers.
- Junior Matt Barry had 13 saves in net.
For the Foes
- DSU didn't have an answer for Tommy Gallo, who tallied five goals and an assist in the win.
- Eric Ellis finished with one goal and one assist.
- Anthony Brigati won 12-of-16 face-offs and had seven ground balls.
- Justin Ruiz made four saves in goal.
Inside the Box Score
- Stockton out-shot DeSales, 35-20, and had a 28-20 advantage in ground balls.
- SU also won 12-of-16 face-offs.
