Women's Lacrosse Falls to Moravian, 20-7

Center Valley, PA (March 28, 2018) - The DeSales University women's lacrosse team saw its two-game winning streak come to an end with a 20-7 loss to Moravian College in non-conference action on Wednesday afternoon.

The Basics

How it Happened
  • Moravian scored the first five goals of the game before the Bulldogs showed some fight rallying for three of the next four goals to pull within three (6-3) at the halfway point of the first-half.
  • The Greyhounds finished the half scoring six straight goals to lead 12-3 and scored the first six of the second-half and never looked back from there.

  • Freshman Julia Astram had three goals and an assist to lead the scoring attack.
  • Senior Danielle Burke and sophomore Katie Kingsland each had two goals.
  • Freshman Eilis McCall added two assists, while sophomore Katarina Polyviou and senior Kelly Meade each added assists.
  • Freshman Katie Stordy continued her stellar play on defense with three ground balls, two draw controls, and two caused turnovers.
  • Meade and freshman Sami Stahl each had three draw controls.
  • Freshman Rachel Sheubrooks made six saves and fellow freshman Kyra Myers had two.
For the Foes
  • Meaghan McMullan finished with a game-high six goals and one assist for seven points.
  • Liz Bill, Allie Fisher, and Jillian Picciuto each had four goals.
  • McMullan also won nine draw controls and had three ground balls.
  • Kelley Gavin finished with four saves.
