Hilton Head, SC (March 8, 2018) - The DeSales University women's tennis team won eight of nine matches en route to an 8-1 win over Defiance College on Thursday evening.

DSU (5-2) swept all three doubles matches and all but one singles match in the win.

In doubles action senior Kelly Nguyen (Macungie, PA) paired with sophomore Amber Achenbach (Wind Gap, PA) to win, 8-4; sophomores Sarah Chan (Cerritos, CA) and Kelsey Kazlauskas (Wyndmoor, PA) teamed to win 8-2 at the No. 2 position, and freshman Alex Rodier (Clayton, NC) matched up with sophomore Amanda Becker (Camp Hill, PA) to win 8-2 in the No. 3 flight.

In singles Nguyen was a 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-8) winner in the No. 1 flight and Achenbach won 6-0, 6-4 in the No. 2 position.

Chan earned a 6-0, 6-1 win at the No. 4 spot, while a pair of freshman Gabby Serratore (Wyoming, PA) and Sabrina Ricciardi (Staten Island, NY) won 6-1, 6-1, at the No. 5 spot and 6-2, 7-6 (8-6) in the No. 6 position.

The Bulldogs wrap-up their trip tomorrow when they take on Albion College.
