Center Valley, PA (April 18, 2018) - The DeSales University men's tennis team clinched a spot in the MAC Freedom postseason tournament with a 9-0 win over Misericordia University on Wednesday afternoon.
It marks the second straight season and only the third time in team history the Bulldogs will be apart of the MAC Freedom postseason tournament.
DSU (9-4, 3-2 MAC Freedom) left no doubt on Wednesday sweeping all nine matches from the Cougars.
In doubles play freshman
Danny Lynn teamed with junior
Jorey Ferraro to win 8-3 at the No. 1 flight, sophomore
Jake McKinney paired with freshman
Dominic Ferraro to win 8-2 at the No. 2 spot, and junior
Austin Wesch played with senior
Brian Hayhurst to win 8-2 in the No. 3 spot.
In singles action Lynn was a 6-0, 6-3 winner at the No. 1 flight and
Jorey Ferraro won 6-3, 7-5 in the No. 2 position. D. Ferraro won 3-6, 6-1, 6-1 in the No. 3 spot, McKinney won easily at No. 4, 6-0, 6-0, and sophomore
Ben Greb won 6-1, 6-1 in the No. 5 hole. Wesch rounded things off with a 6-1, 6-0 win at the No. 6 position.
The Bulldogs still have a shot at improving its postseason seed finishing up the regular season on Saturday, April 28th hosting King's College.
