Wilkes-Barre, PA (April 28, 2018) - The DeSales University men's lacrosse team saw its 2018 season come to an end with a 9-6 loss at Wilkes University in MAC Freedom action on Saturday afternoon.

How it Happened

• In a battle of two teams looking to earn the fourth and final spot in the MAC Freedom postseason tournament Wilkes jumped out early scoring three goals over the first five minutes of the game and six of the first seven goals to lead 7-1 at the 5:01 mark of the second quarter.
• DeSales gained some momentum entering the half with two goals over the final 95 seconds to pull within 7-3.
• Both teams went scoreless in the third quarter and traded goals over the first nine minutes of the fourth quarter as the Colonels held on for the 9-6 win.

Top Bulldog Performers

• Sophomore Justin Monaghan had three goals and an assist to lead the DeSales scoring attack.
• Senior Joe Neggia added two goals and sophomore Eric Magro scored once.
• Senior Josh Harman had one assist.
• Sophomore Frank Krug had three caused turnovers and six ground balls.
• Freshman Colin Corrado did another nice job at the face-off winning 10-of-18.
• Junior Matt Barry made 12 saves in the loss.

For the Foes

• John Wink led all scorers with four goals and one assist.
• Nicholas Ruggiero finished with three goals, while John Luna and Nico Lorenzo each had one goal and two assists.
• Jeremy Kachel totaled two assists.

• The Colonels out-shot the Bulldogs, 32-29, and had a slim 38-35 advantage in ground balls.
