Charlie Barebo broke a tie at four in the top of the ninth with a two-out three-run home run lifting the DeSales University baseball team past Drew University, 7-6, in non-conference action on Wednesday afternoon.
DeSales scored runs in the first (RBI double from senior
Conner Lafferty), third (RBI double from sophomore
Sergio Diaz), fourth (RBI single from junior
Preston Amato), and eighth inning (RBI single from freshman
Sean Hanczaryk) to enter the ninth inning tied at four with the Ranges.
After two walks and three stolen bases, Barebo had runners on second and third and two outs and he laced a three-run shot down the left field line giving DeSales a 7-4 lead.
Senior
Konner Schneider worked around three doubles and a walk in the ninth to preserve the win and earn his fifth save of the season. Senior
Andrew Schuler got the win pitching a scorelss eighth inning.
Hanczaryk had three hits and freshman
Cody Mish went 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Diaz also had two hits in the win.
The Bulldogs are off tomorrow and return to action on Friday when they take on King's College in the MAC Freedom Postseason Tournament Opener beginning at 4:00 pm.
