Comeback Spoiled on Late Goal in Men's Soccer 3-2 Loss to Misericordia

Center Valley, PA (September 29, 2018) - The DeSales University men's soccer team erased a two goal deficit late but saw a goal in the 85th minute by Misericordia University spoil the comeback in a 3-2 loss in the MAC Freedom opener for both teams on Saturday afternoon.

How it Happened
  • The Cougars took a 1-0 lead just 2:01 before halftime and made it a two-goal game in the 65th minute.
  • DeSales needed just 53 seconds to get back within one goal in the 66th minute and tied the game in the 77th minute on its second header goal of the game.
  • Misericordia was able to reclain the lead for good in the 85th minute on a centering pass that caromed off two defenders legs and into the net and the Bulldogs were unable to find the tying marker this time.
