Center Valley, PA (January 30, 2019) - The DeSales University bench out-scored FDU-Florham's, 31-14, leading the Bulldogs past the Devils, 77-72, in MAC Freedom action on Wednesday evening in Billera Hall.

How it Happened
- FDU was on fire from the field the entire first-half as the Devils' shot a blistering 66.7 percent from the floor and held a slim two-point lead (40-38) at halftime.
- DeSales stayed in the game hitting 6-of-9 from outside the arc and also shot well hitting 12-of-24 (50.0%) from the field.
- Florham continued to lead by four (51-47) when sophomore Timmy Edwards went on a personal 8-0 run scoring four straight baskets to give DSU a 55-51 lead with 12:25 left to play.
- The lead was one (57-56) at the 10:53 mark when the Bulldogs took control using an 11-2 run over the next 3:50 to take their largest lead of the game (68-58) at the 6:10 mark. Juniors Ben Pratt and Alex House each had four points during the spurt.
- Leading by nine with 2:33 left, the Devils scored five quick points to pull within four but a free throw from junior Julian Wing with 1:29 to go, a defensive stop on the other end, and a lay-in from freshman Keba Mitchell on an out of bounds play with two seconds left on the shot clock on the other end pushed the advatange up to seven points with 50 seconds left and the Devils couldn't recover.
Top Bulldog Performers
- House and junior Tracy Simsick each led a balanced scoring attack with 11 points.
- Senior Luke Connaghan had 10 points and Mitchell equaled that total off the bench.
- Pratt was terrific off the pine finishing with eight points and a game-high nine assists.
For the Foes
- Darren Davy missed two shots (12-for-14) and finished with a game-high 24 points.
- Shawn Smith had 14 points and Oliver Ortman finished with 10 in the loss.
Inside the Box Score
- DeSales did a great job of protecting the ball committing just 10 turnovers in the game and dished out 22 assists on 29 made baskets.
- Both teams shot an even 50 percent from the field in the second-half and FDU finished the game shooting 58.2 percent overall.
- DSU hurt the Devils on the offensive glass, scoring 18 second chance points.
