Tunney's PK keeps MAC Freedom Playoff Hopes Alive for Men's Soccer

Center Valley, PA (October 26th, 2019) - The DeSales University men's soccer team kept their MAC Freedom playoff hopes alive with a 2-1 win over Wilkes University on Saturday afternoon. 

The Basics
  • Final Score: DeSales - 2, Wilkes - 1
  • Records: DeSales (6-10-1, 3-3 MAC Freedom); Wilkes (6-7-3, 1-4-1 MAC Freedom)
How it Happened
  • The Bulldogs struck first when freshman Dimeji Oyinkolade ripped a shot inside the far post off a feed from junior Chris Tocchet in the 15th minute.
  • Goals went to a stand still until the 63:04 mark when Wilkes tied it up at 1-1.
  • DeSales regained the lead and never looked back in the 86th minute when junior Sean Tunney scored off of a penalty kick. 

Top Bulldog Performers
  • Oyinkolade's goal was his sixth of the year.
  • Tunney's netted his fourth goal of the year.
  • Sophomore Jake Padula made three saves in net.
For the Foes
  •  Danny McGinley garnered his second goal of the season.
