Box Score Arlington, VA (October 5, 2019) - The DeSales University volleyball team dropped the opener at the Marymount University Invitational falling to the host, Marymount, 3-0 (28-26, 25-10, 25-20).
The first set featured 14 ties and three lead changes and was tight the entire way. DSU had a set point at 24-23 after a kill from freshmanÂ
Delanie Zohler but Marymount fended it off and won two straight points tied at 26 to take the first set.
That momentum seemed to carry over to the second set as the Saints broke open a tie at five winning 17 of the next 22 points to take a 27-9 lead and never looked back.
The third set was another tight one. Tied at 17 late, Marymount had a three-point and four-point run to take command and win the match.

Morghan Shoemaker each led the Bulldogs with nine kills. FreshmanÂ
McKenzie Brady led the defense with 17 digs and sophomoreÂ
Audrey Wolfe finished with 29 assists and 13 digs in the loss.
DSU is back at it tomorrow when they take on PSU-Behrend and Virginia Wesleyan University.
