Women's Lacrosse Falls to Drew, 13-6

Center Valley, PA (February 27, 2019) - The DeSales University women's lacrosse team dropped its 2019 home opener falling to Drew University, 13-6, in non-conference action on Wednesday afternoon.

How it Happened
  • Drew scored six of the first seven goals of the game to open up a 6-1 lead just three minutes into the second-half.
  • Sophomores Julia Astram and Eilis McCall then teamed to score two straight goals cutting the margin to 6-3 before three straight goals from the Rangers put the game out of reach midway thru the second half.
Top Bulldog Performers
  • Astram finished with a team-high three goals and freshman Azlin Myers added two goals.
  • McCall had three points with one goal and two assists.
  • Sophomore Katie Stordy had an assist, won three draw controls, picked up three ground balls, and had four caused turnovers.
  • Sophomore Rachel Sheubrooks made 15 saves in goal and had six ground balls.
For the Foes
  • Mia Campanale had three goals and three assists to lead the Rangers.
  • Charly Nolting finished with two goals and three assists, while Meliha Emini and Allie DiDario also each scored twice.
  • Kat Michalski had seven saves in between the pipes.
  • Kendall Hartt finished with two goals five draw controls.
