Wilkes-Barre, PA (April 10, 2019) - The DeSales University women's tennis team won its sixth straight match and 10th of the season defeating King's College, 7-2, in MAC Freedom action on Wednesday afternoon.
The win improves DeSales to 10-3 overall and a perfect 3-0 mark in MAC Freedom play.
Doubles
After dropping the #1 doubles match, DSU took a 2-1 lead as sophomoreÂ
Alex Rodier and freshmanÂ
Kirsten Kosa won 8-2 in the No. 2 flight and seniorÂ
Sarah Chan and freshmanÂ
Annie Rakos earned an 8-3 win in the No. 3 slot. Rodier and Kosa won its sixth straight match together and improved to 12-2 on the season and 9-1 in the No. 2 position. Chan and Rakos also won its sixth straight to improve to 7-2 overall and 5-1 in the #3 position.
Singles
Kosa was a 6-2, 6-1 winner in the No. 2 flight to win her sixth straight match and to stay unbeaten in MAC Freedom play. Rodier won her fifth straight match, 4-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-8) coming from behind after being down one set in the No. 3 slot and Rakos won her eighth straight decision in the No. 4 spot, 6-2, 6-0. She is now 8-0 on the season.
Chan was a 6-0, 6-1 winner at the No. 5 spot, her sixth straight win and freshmanÂ
Bailey Greco earned a 6-4, 6-1 win at the No. 6 spot, also her sixth straight win in singles.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Saturday when they welcome MAC Freedom favorite, Wilkes University, to town with start time set for 9:00 am.
