Center Valley, PA (April 3, 2019) - The DeSales University baseball team used three big innings to defeat Ursinus College, 13-9, in a non-conference game at Weiland Park on a windy Wednesday evening.
Ursinus took a 3-0 lead with one run in the first inning and two in the second frame before the Bulldogs scored five in the bottom of the second inning thanks in part to RBI doubles off the bat from seniorÂ
Preston Amato and freshmanÂ
Johnny Medina.
The Bears tied it in the fourth but DSU plated three more runs in the bottom half on RBIs from juniorÂ
Michael White, seniorÂ
Nick White, and seniorÂ
Aaron Fritz.
UC battled back once again to tie the game at eight after six innings but DeSales put it away in the bottom of the seventh scoring four times on an RBI double from seniorÂ
Charlie Barebo, RBI triple from M. White, and RBI single from N. White.

Max Antos earned the win pitching two strong innings of relief.

Evan Plummer had two hits and scored twice, Amato finished with two hits, two runs, and three RBIs. Barebo scored three times, had two hits and knocked in two, M. White had two hits, two runs, and two RBIs, and seniorÂ
Sergio Diaz had two hits in the win.
The Bulldogs are right back to action tomorrow when they host Misericordia University beginning at 5:30 PM for the first of three games this weekend with Misericordia.
