Center Valley, PA (May 1, 2019) - The DeSales University men's lacrosse team scored the first six and seven of the last eight goals of the game leading the Bulldogs past Misericordia University, 15-8, in the semifinals of the MAC Freedom postseason tournament on Wednesday evening.

- The Bulldogs advance to the MAC Freedom championship game on Saturday to face Eastern University with game time set for 1:00 pm in St. David's, PA.
- The championship game appearance will be the second in team history with the first also at Eastern, a 12-5 loss in 2014.
How it Happened
- The Bulldogs dominated the first 15 minutes of this one scoring the first six goals of the game and led 6-1 after one quarter of play.
- Misericordia chipped away at the lead and after scoring the first two goals of the third quarter the Cougars had pulled to within one with 12:19 left in the third quarter.
- DSU quieted the rally with two goals in the span of 1:34 to re-claim a three goal lead that led a run of seven straight goals to put the game away.
Top Bulldog Performers
- Sophomore Zach Bowen led the offensive attack with six goals and an assist for a game-high seven points.
- Freshman Tom Connors and junior Justin Monaghan each had two goals and three assists.
- Senior Joe Neggia and junior Matt Brown both scored twice with Brown adding an assist.
- Freshman Kai Taylor had one goal and one assist and sophomore Matt Motto and freshman Timmy Smith each had one assist.
- Junior Frank Krug once again dominated picking up 14 ground balls and causing five turnovers.
- Sophomore Colin Corrado was a force on the face-off winning 21-of-25 with eight ground balls.
- Senior Matt Barry had seven saves in the goal.
For the Foes
- Paul Hanrahan had three goals and Brandon Winslow and Robert Wagner each had two goals and an assist.
- Patrick Luzzi finished with one goal and one assist.
- Matt Beck played well in goal making 14 saves.
Inside the Box Score
- DSU dominated nearly every stat category out-shooting MU, 45-29, holding a 37-17 edge in ground balls, and winning 23-of-27 face-offs.
- DeSales 3-for-3 in man-up situations and had just three failed clears.
