Radnor, PA (May 8, 2019) - The DeSales University men's lacrosse team saw its historic season come to an end Wednesday afternoon falling to Cabrini University, 15-4, in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
The Basics

- The Bulldogs finish off a historic season that saw them post their first-ever season with a .500 or better record and win a school-record 17 games.
- DSU also won its first-ever MAC Freedom Championship and made its first ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
How it Happened
- A scoreless thru the first 7:39 was broken open by the Cavaliers as they scored six goals in a span of 5:32 to take a 6-0 lead.
- The Bulldogs played Cabrini even (2-2) thru the nearly the entire second quarter before CU scored with 0.9 seconds left on the first-half clock to take a 9-2 halftime lead.
- Cabrini blanked the Bulldogs in the third quarter before posting the final 15-4 tally.
Top Bulldog Performers
- Senior Joe Neggia with two goals finishing the season with 59 goals and 10 assists for 69 points and his career with 136 career goals and 44 assists for 180 career points. He broke the single-season record for goals in a year and finished in second place on the all-time goals list.
- Sophomore Zach Bowen added one goal and one assist finishing the year with 54 goals and 10 assists for 64 points.
- Sophomore Matt Motto added a goal and junior Justin Monaghan had an assist in the loss.
- Senior Matt Barry was tremendous in goal making 15 saves finishing his career with 495 career saves, fourth all-time. He is also DSU's all-time leading in goals against average and save percentage.
- Junior Frank Krug had three ground balls and two caused turnovers and will likely end the season as the NCAA leader in caused turnovers this season.
For the Foes
- Kyle Tucker led the Cavaliers with five goals and one assist and Jordan Krug had four goals and one assist for five points.
- Luke McCallion won 11-of-17 face-offs.
- Riley White made 11 saves in goal.

- Cabrini out-shot DeSales, 61-37, and had a 47-29 advantage in ground balls.
