Women's Lacrosse Falls to Cabrini, 19-6, in ECAC Quarterfinal

Center Valley, PA (May 8, 2019) - The DeSales University women's lacrosse team saw its season come to an end falling to Cabrini University, 19-6, in the ECAC Tournament Quarterfinals on Wednesday evening.

  • The Bulldogs finish the year with a school-record 10 wins, earning its first-ever postseason appearances appearing in both the MAC Freedom postseason tournament and the ECAC Tournament.
How it Happened
  • Cabrini scored the first four goals of the game and opened up an 11-1 lead 24:10 into the game and never really looked back from there.
Top Bulldog Performers
  • Sophomore Julia Astram led the Bulldogs with four goals and an assist finishing the season as the leading scorer with 58 goals and 14 assists for 72 points.  Her 58 goals and 72 points are both single-season records.
  • Sophomore Sydney MacDonough and Alexandra Berdej each scored one assist.
  • Freshman Azlin Myers had two helpers and sophomore Eilis McCall had one assist.
  • Sophomore Katie Stordy had six draw controls and five ground balls.
  • Sophomore Rachel Sheubrooks finished with 15 saves and seven ground balls.
  • Graduate student Annabella Stigliano had five caused turnovers.
For the Foes
  • Avery Murphy led the Cavaliers with five goals and an assist and added 10 draw controls.
  • Ashley Tutzauer had four goals and two assists and Taylor Dimmerling finished with four goals and an assist.
