Center Valley, PA (September 18, 2019) - The DeSales University men's soccer team suffered a heartbreaking decision falling to local rival Muhlenberg College, 4-3, in overtime in non-conference action on Wednesday afternoon.

The Basics

• Final Score: Muhlenberg - 4, DeSales - 3 (OT)
• Records: DeSales (3-4); Muhlenberg (5-0-1)

How it Happened

• DeSales took an early lead scoring twice in the span of four minutes in the 9th and 13th minutes.
• Senior Keegan Coffield scored on a free kick from junior Kishan Modessa that went thru the GK's hands and right to Coffield who knocked it in.
• Freshman Dimeji Oyinkolade then made it 2-0 out-hustling the Mules keeper to a 50/50 ball that squirted into a wide open net after just beating the GK to the ball.
• Muhlenberg got one goal back before the half to make it 2-1.
• Just 1:38 into the second-half, the Bulldogs reclaimed the two goal lead when senior Ian Patmore re-directed a pass inside the box inside the right post for a 3-1 lead.
• The Mules got within once again in the 56th minute and tied the score at three at 83:02 when Stephen Carton blasted a shot from about 30 yards out.
• Muhlenberg got the win just 52 seconds into the first OT when DSU committed a foul in the box and Chris Richards converted the PK for the Mules.

Top Bulldog Performers

• The goal for Coffield and Patmore was their second of the season while Oyinkolade netted his third on the year.
• Modessa and junior Mark Stenske each earned assists in the loss.
• Sophomore Nathan Hatzfeld made six saves in between the pipes.

For the Foes

• Carton had a goal and an assist, Kevin Hagan equaled Carton with one goal and one assist.
• Zach Cimring had MU's other goal.
• Lance Lysiak made two saves in goal.

Inside the Box Score

• Muhlenberg had a 24-8 advantage in shots and a 7-2 edge in corner kicks.
