Three First-Half Goals Leads Women's Soccer past Lebanon Valley, 3-1

Annville, PA (September 18, 2019) - The DeSales University women's soccer team scored three first-half goals and held on for a 3-1 win over Lebanon Valley College in non-conference action on Wednesday afternoon.

How it Happened
  • DSU took a 1-0 lead early when junior Rachel Medlar scored on the rebound of her own saved shot just 5:30 into the game.
  • Just 3:02 later the Bulldogs took a 2-0 lead when sophomore Cassidy Klein sent a centering pass into the box and freshman Katie Padgett was there to head it into the goal.
  • LVC got one goal back in the 32nd minute but DSU took a 3-1 lead in the 41st minute when freshman Allie Trick scored on the rebound of her own shot to post the final tally as neither team scored in the second-half.
Top Bulldog Performers
  • Trick's goal was the sixth of the season, leading the team with 12 points.
  • Padgett scored her third goal and Medlar's was her second on the year.
  • Junior Lia Gaccione made five saves in between the pipes.
For the Foes
  • Lucy McGloshen scored the Flying Dutchmen's lone goal.
Inside the Box Score
  • DeSales out-shot LVC, 23-8, for the game and had a 5-2 egde in corner kicks.
