Center Valley, PA (September 18, 2019) - The DeSales University women's tennis team opened its 2019-20 season with a 7-2 win over Alvernia University on Wednesday afternoon.
Doubles
DSU took all three doubles matches to take a 3-0 lead. SophomoreÂ
Annie Rakos teamed with seniorÂ
Kelsey Kazlauskas to win 8-6 in the No. 1 flight, SophomoreÂ
Kirsten Kosa and juniorÂ
Alex Rodier won easily (8-1) in the No. 2 slot, and sophomoreÂ
Bailey Greco and freshmanÂ
Abby Connors won 8-4 in the No. 3 flight.
Singles
The Bulldogs won four of the six singles matches to take the match. Kosa was a 6-1, 6-1 winner in the No. 2 hole and Rodier won 6-4, 6-4, in the No. 3 spot. Greco won 6-3, 6-2 in the No. 5 flight and juniorÂ
Sabrini Ricciardi was a 6-4, 6-4 winner in the final match.
The Bulldogs are back in action this weekend on Saturday when they host Elizabethtown College beginning at 10:00 am.
