Center Valley, PA (September 4, 2019) - The DeSales University women's soccer team earned its second win of the season defeating Albright College, 3-1, in non-conference action on Wednesday afternoon.

The Basics

How it Happened

• The game was scoreless into the 41st minute when DeSales struck first as freshman Meghan Foley took a pass at the top of the box, beat a defender to her right, and fired a shot inside the far post.
• A 1-0 game at the half was pushed to a two-goal lead just 2:03 into the second-half when sophomore Vanessa Atie took a centering pass, had one-touch to her right, and fired a shot back inside the far post.
• DSU got its third goal in the 55th minute when sophomore Meghan Corbran one-timed a pass back inside the box for the Bulldogs third goal of the game.

Top Bulldog Performers

• Foley and Corbran's goals were the first of the season for each player.
• Atie's marker was her second of the season.
• Sophomore Cassidy Klein and junior Rachel Medlar each had assists in the win.
• Junior Lia Gaccione made three saves in between the pipes.

For the Foes

• Lauren Haley scored the Lion's lone goal on an assist from Amanda Fulcher.

Inside the Box Score

• DeSales dominated the stat sheet out-shooting Albright, 21-6, and had an 11-4 advantage in shots on goal.
