Center Valley, PA (February 1, 2020) - Sophomores
Averi Jordan and
Rylie Rittenhouse each had double-doubles and the DeSales University women's basketball team out-scored King's College by 17 in the second-half in a 75-56 win over the Monarchs in MAC Freedom action on Saturday afternoon.

- The win moves DSU into a tie for first place with Misericordia University, an OT winner at FDU-Florham on Saturday.
How it Happened
- DeSales never trailed in this one scoring the first seven points of the game and taking an 11-2 lead earl.
- DSU led by as many as 11 points twice in the second quarter before a 14-5 run over the final 7:54 of the first-half made it a two-point game (34-32) at the break.
- The Bulldogs turned up the defense in the third quarter holding King's scoreless for the first 5:20 of the second-half and used a 16-5 run over the first nine minutes of the third quarter to take a 50-37 lead.
- The Monarchs scored five straight, two at the end of the third and a three to start the fourth quarter, to cut the lead down to six points, but the Bulldogs used a 9-2 run to take a 59-46 lead and pulled away from there.
Top Bulldog Performers
- Jordan led the Bulldogs with 20 points and 15 rebounds for her fifth double-double of the year.
- Rittenhouse added a double-double with 14 points and 11 boards off the bench.
- Sophomore Samantha Shinkus scored 16 points, all in the second-half and added six assists.
- Freshman Maria Newsome finished with nine points and sophomore Emma Stanfield had six assists.
For the Foes
- Emily Kriston finished with 15 points and five assists.
- Emily Morano came off the bench to score 14 points.
- Rebecca Prociak had 13 points and seven rebounds and Samantha Rajza finished with 10 points and nine rebounds.
Inside the Box Score
- The Bulldogs dominated the glass out-rebounding King's, 54-36.
- DSU had more assists (20), than turnovers (15) and out-scored the Monarchs, 14-2, in fast break points.
- DeSales held King's to just 33.3 percent shooting.
