Men's Lacrosse Win Streak Snapped at Four in 17-11 Loss to Nazareth

Tampa, FL (March 10, 2020) - The DeSales University men's lacrosse team saw its four game win streak come to an end with a 17-11 loss to Nazareth College on its lone game during its spring trip to Florida.

The Basics

How it Happened
  • The Bulldogs were quick out of the gates scoring three straight goals to take a 4-2 lead at the 5:45 mark of the first quarter.
  • Nazareth then took control scoring 11 straight goals to take a 13-4 lead with 2:22 to go in the first-half.
  • DSU scored three of the next four goals to get within 14-7 but Nazareth answered with three straight to take a 17-7 lead and never looked back from there.
Top Bulldog Performers
  • Junior Matt Motta led the Bulldogs with three goals and three assists.
  • Sophomore Tom Connors added three goals and one helper and junior Zach Bowen finished with two goals and one assist.
  • Sophomore Kai Taylor, senior Eric Magro, and sophomore Sean Wiser each had one goal.
  • Junior Nick Bowen and senior Matt Brown both had assists.
  • Senior Frank Krug finished with five caused turnovers and eight ground balls.
  • Junior Colin Corrado won 14-of-26 face-offs and added six ground balls.
  • Senior Vincent Groelly made 10 saves in goal.
For the Foes
  • Jeremy Jacob had four goals and one assist and Kevin Hussey finished with three goals and one assist.
  • Tim Vinton added two goals and one assist to go along with 12 ground balls and won 15-of-28 face-offs.
  • Jon Roth added two goals and two assists.

  • Nazareth out-shot DeSales, 56-37, and had a 42-33 edge in ground balls.
