Women's Lacrosse Finishes Spring Trip with 20-7 Win over Husson

Hilton Head, SC (March 12, 2020) - The DeSales University women's lacrosse team finished up its spring trip to Hilton Head with a 20-7 win over Husson University on Thursday morning.

How it Happened
  • After trading goals to start the game, DeSales took control from there scoring four straight to take a 5-1 lead and led 9-4 at the half.
  • Husson scored the first goal of the second-half to get within four at 9-5, but the Bulldogs dominated from that point scoring seven straight to take a 16-5 lead and never looked back from there.
Top Bulldog Performers
  • Junior Julia Astram led all scorers with four goals and five assists for nine points which ranks as the third most points in a game in DeSales history.
  • Freshman Marina Bradley added four goals and two assists for six points and sophomore Azlin Myers finished with six points (3g, 3a).
  • Sophomore Alexandra Berdej and freshman Lauryn Beckner each finished with three goals, while freshman Kelsey Pogonyi, freshman Tori Brennan, and junior Kayla Kearns each scored once.
  • Beckner had a team-high six draw controls and Myers totaled four ground balls and three draw controls.
  • Pogonyi finished with three caused turnovers.
  • Sophomore Amanda Schultz played goal for the first time in her career and made eight saves.

  • Mary Cushing finished with three goals and Ashley Cummings had two assists.
  • Maddy Olsen totaled five draw controls.
  • Mallory Burchill made nine saves in goal.
