Center Valley, PA (October 16, 2021) - The DeSales University field hockey was shut out for the first time all season falling to Arcadia University, 4-0, in MAC Freedom action on Saturday afternoon.

The Basics

  • Records: DeSales (6-8, 1-3 MAC Freedom); Arcadia (6-9, 3-1 MAC Freedom)
  • The win improves Arcadia to 8-6 all-time vs. the Bulldogs.
How it Happened
  • The first half was a back-and-forth affair with both teams having great chances to score but goalkeepers up to the task in keeping the game scoreless.
  • Arcadia was the aggressor out of the halftime locker room scoring just 1:10 into the half to take a 1-0 lead.
  • DeSales appeared to tie the game just over two minutes later but a goal off a corner was called "too high" and the Knights raced the other way and scored the second tally of the half to steal away the momentum and take a 2-0 lead.
  • AU added another goal in the 38th minute and made it 4-0 in the fourth quarter with the last tally of the game.

  • Sophomore Kayla Yeatman played very well in goal, making eight saves.
  • Sophomore Grace DeThomas had a defensive save in the loss.
For the Foes
  • Morganne Dee scored twice and Caeley Letersky and Ashlyn Barton each scored once.
  • Autumn Gahman had an assist.
  • Gracie Fenner was a wall in goal making eight saves.
