Three Second-Half Goals Lift Men's Soccer past Centenary, 3-1

Center Valley, PA (October 16, 2021) - Junior Dimeji Oyinkolade scored two goals leading a three-goal second-half rally as the DeSales University men's soccer team earned a 3-1 win over Centenary University on Saturday afternoon.

The Basics
  • Final Score: DeSales - 3, Centenary - 1
  • Records: DeSales (6-7-1 Overall); Centenary (3-11 Overall)
  • This was just the second ever meeting between the two teams and DSU's first-ever win after CU won the initial matchup back in 1994.
How it Happened
  • After Centenary took a 1-0 lead into halftime, DeSales responded in the second-half.
  • Oyinkolade got things started tying the game 5:11 into the second-half.
  • Sophomore Eric Clouse scored his first collegiate goal, unassisted, in the 78th minute to give DSU a 2-1 lead and Oyinkolade provided the exclamation point in the 88th minute.
Top Bulldog Performers
  • The goals were #11 and 12 for Oyinkolade.  He is now two goals shy of moving into the top 10 for goals scored in a season.
  • Sophomore Brennan Foster and Elek McDonald each had assists in the win.
  • Senior Nathan Hatzfeld made one save in goal.
For the Foes
  • Nik Polizos scored for the Cyclones and Eric Nugent had an assist.
  • Paul LiTrenta made four saves in goal.

  • DeSales out-shot Centenary, 21-6, and had a 6-3 advantage in corner kicks.
