Center Valley, PA (October 9, 2021) - The DeSales University women's soccer team earned its second straight MAC Freedom win taking down FDU-Florham, 2-1, in MAC Freedom action on Saturday afternoon.

The Basics

• Final Score: DeSales - 2, FDU-Florham - 1
• Records: DeSales (9-3, 2-1 MAC Freedom); FDU-Florham (9-4-1, 1-1-1 MAC Freedom)
• DeSales has now won seven straight over the Devils in the all-time series to improve its record to 9-13-3 vs. FDU-Florham.
• DSU is now just one win shy of earning 10 wins for the seventh time in program history.

How it Happened

• Neither team was able to find the back of the net in the opening-half with DSU dominating possession and out-shooting FDU, 10-4, over the first 45 minutes.
• Junior Allie Trick broke the tie in the 55th minute scoring on a nice feed from fellow junior Meghan Foley in the box.
• Junior Sam Monteforte deposited an important insurance goal just 5:05 later on a shot from about 30 yards out.
• The Devils got back within one in the 64th minute but never really threatened the tying marker.

Top Bulldog Performers

• Trick netted her team-leading seventh goal of the season and Monteforte her third goal of both of the season and the week.
• Sophomore Kerrigan de Meij had an assist on Monteforte's goal.
• Sophomore Hannah Pacheco made three saves in between the pipes.

For the Foes

• Ashleigh Frankel scored FDU's goal and Amanda Croce had an assist.
• Erica Blackburn played well in goal making 11 saves.

Inside the Box Score

• DeSales out-shot FDU-Florham, 22-10, and had a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks.
