Center Valley, PA (November 3, 2021) - The DeSales University volleyball team shook off a first set loss to rally past Arcadia University 3-1 on Wednesday evening in Billera Hall to advance into the MAC Freedom championship match on Saturday.

• Final Score: DeSales - 3, Arcadia - 1 (21-25, 25-22, 25-23, 25-14)
• Records: DeSales (19-12 Overall); Arcadia (13-19 overall)
• DeSales advances to the MAC Freedom championship match for the 12th time in team history.
• The win gives DSU two straight wins over Arcadia in the all-time series and increases the Bulldogs lead in the series to 15-3.
• The Bulldogs will host Stevens in the title match with match time set for 2:00 pm.

How it Happened

• DeSales jumped out early in the first taking leads of 6-0, 9-1, and 18-11 before Arcadia closed the gap.
• The Bulldogs continued to lead 20-16 before AU scored nine of the last 10 points to steal the first set, 25-21.
• The second set was back-and-forth the entire way with 13 ties and two lead changes.
• Tied at 19, DSU scored three straight points and finished the set with just one hitting error to tie the match at one set apiece.
• The Bulldogs had a sluggish start to the fourth set committing four hitting errors early as AU took an early lead.
• DSU trailed 20-15 before running of 10 of the next 13 points to take a 2-1 lead in the match, stealing the third set.
• The fourth set was all Bulldogs, taking a 6-1 lead early and never looking back in a match clinching 25-14 fourth set win.

Top Bulldog Performers

• Four different players had double digit kills including junior Delanie Zohler with a match-high 18, hitting .317 for the match and adding four blocks.
• Junior Caroline Garretson had 15 kills and hit .448, adding five blocks.
• Sophomore Shannon McDevitt finished with 11 kills, hitting .500 and six blocks.
• Junior Austen Brewer totaled 10 kills.
• Sophomore Grace Grandinetti had 49 assists and nine digs.
• Junior McKenzie Brady finished with 19 digs and junior Mykenah Calder had 17 digs.

For the Foes

• Michelle Frank had 11 kills and 11 digs.
• Grace Kraft finished with 18 digs.
