Center Valley, PA (November 4, 2021) - The DeSales University women's soccer team saw its season come to an end falling to Stevens, 2-1, in the MAC Freedom semifinals on Thursday afternoon.

- The loss ends DSU's season with a 13-5 overall record, tying for the second most wins in program history.
- Stevens advances to the MAC Freedom championship game on Saturday to face the winner of the other semifinal match-up between Wilkes/Misericordia.
How it Happened
- DeSales took a 1-0 lead in this one when junior Tess Rodgers scored on a PK after junior Allie Trick drew a foul in the box at 29:59.
- The Ducks had two shots just nearly miss as one was tapped wide by sophomore Hannah Pacheco early in the half and another missed the post wide by a few inches.
- Stevens eventually broke thru to tie the game at one with 5:08 left in the first-half when Nicole Veraja scored inside the left post on shot just inside the 18 that was bouncing around the defense after a free kick centering pass and that score stood into the halftime break.
- SIT took its first lead of the game 11:11 into the second-half as Brynn Budka scored on a header, her first goal of the season, after a free kick centering pass from Jana Mucci.
- DeSales had several chances to tie the game, the best coming in the 69th minute when first-year Emma Ribeiro broke free on a pass thru the Ducks defense forcing a 1-v-1 with the Stevens keeper but Ribeiro's shot was kicked away by a diving keeper to hold onto the one goal lead and eventually the semifinal win.

- Sophomore Hannah Pacheco made four saves in goal.
- The goal was Rodgers' third of the season, all of which have come on PK's.

- Both goals scored by Stevens were the first of the season for Veraja and Budka.
