Hoboken, NJ (May 6, 2021) - The DeSales University women's tennis team upset second seeded Stevens Institute of Technology, 5-4, in the MAC Freedom semifinals on Thursday afternoon.
The win improves DSU to 10-2 overall, giving the Bulldogs its fourth 10+ win season under head coachÂ
David Kurvink. DSU advances to the MAC Freedom Championship game for the fifth time in team history. The Bulldogs won its only MAC Freedom Championship back in 2005.
Doubles
The Bulldogs jumped out to a 2-1 lead as juniorsÂ
Kirsten Kosa andÂ
Bailey Greco earned a hard fought 8-7 (7-4) win at the No. 2 flight and freshmanÂ
Morgan Landau paired with seniorÂ
Sabrina Ricciardi to win 8-0 in the third flight.
Singles
Kosa earned a second point at the No. 2 singles spot with a 7-5, 6-2 win and Landau and Ricciardi each went 2-0 on the day with Landau winning 6-0, 6-3 at the No. 5 spot and Ricciardi winning, 6-0, 6-0 in the sixth flight.
