Women's Soccer Blanks Wilkes, 3-0, in MAC Freedom Opener

Wilkes-Barre, PA (October 1, 2022) - The DeSales University women's soccer team won its third straight game blanking Wilkes University, 3-0, in the MAC Freedom opener for both teams on Saturday afternoon.

How it Happened
  • Junior Kerrigan de Meij got DSU on the board in the 28th minute firing a shot just inside the left post after a failed clear from the Colonel defense as that lead stood into the half.
  • Junior Holly McFarland blasted a rocket into the upper 90 10 minutes into the second-half to give DSU an insurance goal and senior Allie Trick provided the final margin with a goal in the 62nd minute.

  • de Meij scored her fifth tally of the season and McFarland got her first of the year.
  • Trick netted her third of the season.
  • de Meij and sophomore Emma Ribeiro each had assists in the win.
  • Junior Hannah Pacheco had three saves to record her fourth shutout of the season and the second straight.

  • Hannah Landis made eight saves in goal for the Colonels.
