Flor's Goal with Two Seconds Left Gives Men's Soccer 2-1 Win at Delaware Valley

Doylestown, PA (October 25, 2022) - First-year Bryan Flor scored with two seconds on the clock giving the DeSales University men's soccer team a 2-1 win at Delaware Valley University on Tuesday afternoon.

  • Records: DeSales (6-9-2, 1-5-1 MAC Freedom); Delaware Valley (6-8, 1-6 MAC Freedom)
  • The win is DSU's 20th straight over the Aggies and improves its all-time record between the two teams to 27-6-2.
  • The win also snaps a winless streak of eight straight games for DeSales.
How it Happened
  • DeSales had a 1-0 lead at the half after a goal in the 39th minute from junior Elek McDonald tipping home a header on the back post off a corner kick feed.
  • The Aggies tied the game when a corner kick in the 49th minute seemed to go thru the hands of the DeSales keeper.
  • The game was seconds away from ending in a tie when junior Larry Agyei took a last second shot that was blockd by an Aggie defender and went right to Flor who hit a low shot that caromed off the Aggies keeper hand and into the net with two seconds left giving the Bulldogs its first MAC Freedom win of the year.

  • The goal was Flor's second of the year.
  • McDonald scored his third of the year.
  • First-years Owen Maher and Liam MacDonald earned assists on the first goal and Agyei had a helper on the game-winner.
  • Junior Tyler Horton made two saves in goal.
For the Foes
  • Thomas Fitzsimmons had the Del. Val. goal and Andrew Roberto made six saves in between the pipes.

  • DeSales had a 21-5 advantage in shots and an 8-3 lead in shots on goal.
