Grace DeThomas scored on a stroke in OT lifting the DeSales University field hockey team to its fourth straight win, 3-2, over Stevenson University on Wednesday evening.
The Basics

- Today's game was the first-ever meeting between the two teams.
How it Happened
- DSU took a 1-0 lead late in the first quarter when junior Tyra Wingle got control of turnover and beat the Mustang keeper inside the far post.
- That lead nearly stood into halftime before Stevenson was awarded a stroke with 1:53 left in the second quarter and tied the score at the break.
- First-year Jordyne Stong gave the Bulldogs the lead back mid-way thru the fourth quarter scoring on a shot just inside the circle off a blocked shot.
- SU had the answer however just 52 seconds later as the game went into overtime.
- Both teams had outstanding chances to score early in the overtime period and junior Kayla Yeatman came up with a big save extending the game robbing a Mustang who barreled into the circle 1-v-1, stoning her shot.
- Wingle broke free with just under seven minutes left and was streaking to the Mustang goal and was tackled from behind upon entering the circle and the Bulldogs were awarded a stroke that DeThomas caromed off the post and into the cage giving DSU the win.

- Wingle scores her ninth goal of the year moving into fourth place all-time with 33 goals.
- DeThomas is now 2-for-3 in strokes this season and has three goals on the year.
- Stong's tally is the fourth of the season.
- Yeatman made four saves, while DeThomas and junior Alexis Armstrong each had one defensive save.
