Maddie Trocki scored with 22 seconds left to force overtime and then again 2:30 into the first OT leading the DeSales University field hockey team past Misericordia University, 3-2, in the MAC Freedom semifinals on Wednesday evening.

- The win advances DSU into the MAC Freedom Championship where they will host the #2 seed, Arcadia University, at home at Noon on Saturday.
- It is DeSales fourth trip to the conference title game and it will be the first time they will host the game.
- The Bulldogs have now won two straight and four of the last five over the Cougars moving to 7-10 all-time vs. Misericordia.
How it Happened
- MU struck first scoring 2:02 into the game on a pass into the box that led to a quick shot past the DSU keeper.
- DeSales got the tying goal at the 10 minute mark when senior Catie McGrath scored off a rebound in front of the Cougar keeper.
- That score stood into the fourth quarter when the Cougars reclaimed a one goal lead on a shot that seemed to be dangerous but stood for a 2-1 MU lead.
- The Bulldogs had a corner with about 45 seconds left that saw the shot go wide and MU took possession at the top of the circle.
- DSU deflected a pass, worked the ball around to the left side of the field where Trocki dribbled into the circle and ripped a reverse stick rocket that made its thru traffic and into the right corner of the cage tying the score at two with 22 seconds left.
- The game advanced into OT where the Bulldogs earned a corner with just over two minutes left.
- First-year Jordyne Stong took the shot from the left side and Trocki was right in front of the goalkeeper deflecting the ball just enough past the Cougar keeper to give DSU the win.

- Trocki's goals are her 10th and 11th of the season.
- McGrath's tally was her seventh of the year.
- Stong earned an assist on the game-winner.
- Junior Kayla Yeatman made some strong saves in goal, totaling five in the win.
