Eberly Posts Double-Double in 74-49 Win at FDU-Florham

Madison, NJ (December 3, 2022) - Junior Elijah Eberly posted a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds leading the DeSales University men's basketball team to a 74-49 win over FDU-Florham in MAC Freedom action on Saturday afternoon.

The Basics
  • Final Score: DeSales - 74, FDU-Florham - 49
  • Records: DeSales (5-2, 2-0 MAC Freedom); FDU-Florham (1-7, 0-2 MAC Freedom)
  • This was the Bulldogs 12th straight win over the Devils and improves DSU to 40-15 all-time in the season series.
How it Happened
  • DeSales took control from the very beginning scoring the first eight points of the game and opening up a 12-2 lead in the first six minutes.
  • The Devils got to within three points several times including the last at 28-25 with 5:21 left before a 10-1 run to end the half fave DSU a 38-26 halftime cushion.
  • The second-half was all DeSales as the lead fell below double digits just twice early in the half and peaked at the 25-point final margin as the Bulldogs shot 56.5 percent from the field over the final 20 minutes.
Top Bulldog Performers
  • Eberly added two blocks in his double-double performance.
  • Sophomore Devin Atkinson had a career-high 12 points off the bench hitting four 3's.
  • Junior Ryan Boylan was also in double digits with 10 points.
  • Sophomore Caleb Gibbs had nine points.
For the Foes
  • Matthew Johnson finished with a game-high 16 points and Brian Nichols added 13 points.
Inside the Box Score
  • DeSales finished the game shooting 46.4 percent from the field and hit 9-for-18 from outside the arc.
  • The Bulldogs were also terrific from the free throw line converting 13-for-15 (86.7 percent).
  • DSU dominated the glass out-rebounding FDU, 38-21, and holding a 25-0 advantage in second chance points.
  • The Bulldogs bench out-scored FDU's, 31-6.
