DeSales Sets New Home Win Streak Mark in Win over Lycoming

Center Valley, PA (February 19, 2022) - Senior Averi Jordan notched her sixth double-double of the season with 22 points and 10 rebounds leading the DeSales University women's basketball team to its 24th straight win at home, 74-39, over Lycoming College in the MAC Freedom regular season finale on Saturday afternoon.

  • Final Score: DeSales - 74, Lycoming - 39
  • Records: DeSales (18-3, 16-0 MAC Freedom); Lycoming (6-18, 6-10 MAC Freedom)
  • DeSales win its 20th straight over Lycoming and improves to 25-3 sweeping the season series.
  • It is DeSales 17th straight win overall and is the Bulldogs' 24th straight win at home, breaking the previous school-record of 23 straight wins.  DSU is now 47-1 in its last 48 games in Billera Hall.
How it Happened
  • Lycoming started the game hot, hitting three of its first fiver shots before DeSales tightened up the defensive screws, taking a 21-12 after one quarter of play.
  • DSU dominated the second quarter holding the Warriors to just eight points opening up a 44-20 lead at the half.
  • The lead was extended to 30 points after three quarters of play and peaked at 40 points in the fourth quarter before the final margin was posted.
Top Bulldog Performers
  • Jordan scored 18 of her 22 points in the first-half and added three assists and three steals.
  • Sophomore Mikaela Reese notched her eighth double-double of the year with 16 points and 13 rebounds and also had six assists and five blocks.
  • Sophomore Lindsey Welsh had a season-high tying 18 points.
For the Foes
  • Ashley Yoh was the lone double figure scorer for the Warriors with 12 points.

  • DeSales scored 28 points off 25 Warrior turnovers.
  • The Bulldogs shot 47.1 percent and held Lycoming to just 24.0 percent shooting.
