Wilkes-Barre, PA (APril 23, 2022) - The DeSales University men's tennis team secured a 5-4 win over Wilkes University in MAC Freedom action on Saturday afternoon inching closer to a postseason berth.
DSU now just needs a win over King's College in the regular season finale next Saturday to clinch a spot in the postseason.
Doubles
DSU trailed 2-1 after doubles earning its lone point in the No. 1 spot when seniorÂ
Danny Lynn and sophomoreÂ
Augie Citrone teamed to win, 8-4.
Singles
The Bulldogs clawed back into the match with singles wins by Citrone (0-6, 6-1, 6-0) in the No. 2 spot, sophomoreÂ
Philip Ritchie in the No. 3 position (6-0, 6-2), and seniorÂ
Nolan Beck in the No. 5 flight (7-5, 6-2). JuniorÂ
Will Pollick closed out the match earning the clinching point in the No. 6 position, 7-5, 6-4.
This is the first win for the Bulldogs over the Colonels since the 2002 season.
