Men's Lacrosse Rolls Past Delaware Valley, 18-8, on Senior Day

Center Valley, PA (April 30, 2022) - The DeSales University men's lacrosse capped off its regular season with an 18-8 MAC Freedom win over Delaware Valley University on senior day Saturday afternoon.

  • It is DSU's fourth straight win moving the Bulldogs to 7-1 all-time vs. the Aggies.
  • DeSales wraps up the MAC Freedom regular season as the #3 seed in the MAC Freedom postseason tournament and will travel to #2 seed, Arcadia University, in the MAC Freedom semifinals on Thursday evening looking at avenge a 2 OT loss during the regular season and earn a spot in the MAC Freedom title game.
How it Happened
  • Saturday was all Bulldogs in the first-half as DSU scored five unanswered goals in the first quarter and led 7-0 before Delaware Valley finally got on the board.
  • DSU took an 11-2 lead into the halftime locker room.
  • Delaware Valley made a run at DeSales to start the third quarter, scoring the first four goals of the second-half to get within 11-6, but DSU finished the third quarter scoring four of the last five goals to lead 15-7 and cruised in the fourth quarter.

  • Graduate student Jalen Holmes had a team-high six goals in the win.
  • Senior Zach Bowen finished with two goals and two assists and senior Sean Wiser had three goals.
  • Sophomore TJ Herron had a goal and two assists.
  • Senior Vince Maria finished with a goal and assist and a team-high three caused turnovers.
  • First-year Anthony Gash won 9-of-13 faceoffs and picked up seven ground balls.
  • Senior Zach Broomall won 8-of-16 faceoffs and had eight ground balls.
  • Sophomore Quinten Lyons totaled 12 saves in goal.
