Hoboken, NJ (January 18, 2023) - The DeSales University men's basketball team out-scored Stevens, 16-9, over the final 5:11 of the game to secure a 66-57 win over the Ducks in MAC Freedom play on Wednesday evening in Canavan Arena.

- DSU finishes the first-half of the MAC Freedom schedule unbeaten with a perfect 8-0 record and has a two-game lead on the second place team, Lycoming College, heading into the second-half of the conference slate.
How it Happened
- Stevens started strong in this one opening up an 11-4 lead before the Bulldogs scored seven straight points to tie the game at 11.
- The rest of the first-half was back-and-forth and saw the Ducks stake a one point lead (23-22) on a step-back three at the halftime buzzer from Mike Goodall.
- Stevens scored six straight points early in the second-half but DSU answered with seven straight to take a one-point lead and the game was once again back-and-forth over the next seven minutes with DeSales leading by two (50-48) at the 5:11 mark.
- Senior Jordan Holmqvist hit a three-pointer from the left corner and junior Christian Guldin followed with a three from right wing on the next possession giving the Bulldogs a 56-48 lead that catapulted a 13-4 run over the next 4:26 finishing with two Guldin free throws as DeSales opened up a 63-52 lead and iced the game from the line over the final 32 seconds going 4-for-4 from the stripe.
Top Bulldog Performers
- Guldin led DeSales with 15 points off the bench, hitting four 3's and adding six rebounds.
- Sophomore Devin Atkinson was also in double digits with 11 points and pulled down a team-high eight boards.
For the Foes
- Jack Spellman finished with 18 points and nine rebounds.
- Goodall and Matt Leming each totaled 10 points.
Inside the Box Score
- After shooting just 29.6 percent in the first-half, the Bulldogs hit 51.1 percent in the second half.
- DeSales out-rebounded Stevens, 41-30, and had an 11-2 advantage in second chance points.
- DSU hit 10 three-pointers and the bench out-scored the Ducks pine squad, 33-8.
